Sustainability

At OPDC, sustainability is central to how we plan, invest, design and deliver regeneration. As one of the capital’s largest Opportunity Areas, Old Oak and Park Royal has a critical role to play in supporting the Mayor of London’s ambition for a net zero carbon London by 2030, while creating long term environmental, social, and economic value for local communities and businesses.

Our approach

Our approach is shaped by three core pledges.

Leading on climate action, working with partners to reduce carbon emissions, expand renewable and low carbon energy, and support a circular economy.

Creating a resilient, connected and thriving place, designing neighbourhoods that are healthy, climate resilient, walkable, well connected, and integrated with green and blue infrastructure.

Empowering communities and young people, supporting inclusion, local leadership, skills, social value and opportunities for people who live, work and study in the area.

Turning ambition into impact

The Sustainability Charter sets the direction, but delivering its ambitions depends on how sustainability is built into decisions.

We invite residents, businesses, developers and partners to join us in building a fairer, greener and more connected future at Old Oak and Park Royal.
